A pressure group based near Keighley is calling on business people to help in their campaign against dog fouling.
Glusburn, Cross Hills and Sutton Dog Fouling Action Group is appealing for help to pay for dog dirt bags which will be used in bag dispenser boxes.
Jill Hirst, a founder member of the group said: “Bidding has already been submitted for council funding to buy permanent metal dispensers to be attached to each of the 20 dog poo bins in the three villages, but it does not cover the cost of keeping them filled with bags.
“Here’s where we hope local businesses could potentially help.
“A hundred pounds of sponsorship will fund enough poo bags for one of the stations, for a whole year.”
The group is to feature in a BBC programme in the New Year which focuses on the nationwide problem of dog fouling and what people are doing to prevent it.
