A councillor has called for a major rethink on West Yorkshire Fire Service’s entire reorganisation plans.

Adrian Naylor, who represents Craven ward on Bradford Council, said the plans should be revised and a new consultation launched.

He has previously voiced concern that the proposed changes would increase response times in outlying villages like Steeton and Silsden.

And, this week, he hit out at proposed changes at Haworth Fire Station.

He said: “What we’re seeing are potentially knee-jerk changes which will have a knock-on effect on other places. If they’re going to look at elements of the plan they need to look at all of it. They need to get public consultation from all the area.”
