Log cabins plan for Crowtrees Leisure Park thrown out on appeal

Attempts to put up four timber log cabins for holiday use close to Crowtrees Leisure Park at Tosside have been thrown out on appeal.

Government inspector Philip Major concluded that the cabins would consolidate the sporadic development on the west side of Tosside Beck and be an intrusive feature in the landscape.

In his decision notice, Mr Major said he had taken into account the existing Crowtrees Park, but the additional four cabins would be harmful to the character and appearance of the surrounding rural area.

Applicant George Penman-Hayes had appealed to the Planning Inspectorate after Craven District Council turned down his application.
