An explosion ripped through a bungalow in Malham Road, Airton, near Skipton, yesterday afternoon, blowing off the roof and severely damaging the front and back walls.
Fire crews from Skipton and Settle attended the scene, but were unable to enter the premises because of safety fears.
No-one was injured in the blast, and while the exact cause of the explosion is not known, it is thought to be related to the LPG gas supply at the premises.
