The Castle Inn, Skipton, has received an improved pub award from the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Landlord Calvin Dow has increased the range of real ales on offer since taking over the pub in June 2010.

Graham Cundall, who presented the award on behalf of CAMRA, said: “The pub now attracts a thriving clientele of all ages with a good mix of locals and visitors. It’s good to see a pub with genuine atmosphere in these difficult times for the licensed trade and this is what has been restored through Calvin’s endeavour.”
