Devastated: Ben Marklew, who lost £100 of his Christmas money
A Silsden boy has been left devastated after losing £100 he was given by relatives for Christmas.
Ben Marklew, 11, lost the wad of banknotes last Thursday (December 27) while on a walk near his house in Bolton Road.
He had believed the money, held together by a paper clip from a Christmas cracker, would be safe in his pocket.
Ben walked up Bolton Road and Brown Bank Lane with his father and sister then crossed an adjacent field before realising he had lost the money.
Ben's mother Sue said the family were unable to find the money, which could have been lost in the field or on the road.
She said: "Ben is devastated. It was Christmas money mostly from his gran.
“He was saving up for an Xbox."
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the money is asked to contact the Marklews on 01535 658301.
