A flood alert remained in place on the River Aire’s upper catchment between Gargrave and Stockbridge, in Keighley, today.

But the Environment Agency said river levels were falling and it did not expect levels to rise to levels that required the issue of flood warnings.

A flood warning, issued for properties close to the river at Bolton Bridge, Bolton Abbey, on Sunday, was lifted on New Year’s Eve.

The heavy rain brought flooding to Craven’s roads, with the A65 between Long Preston and Settle being particularly badly affected.
