Claire Marsden with Jessica Alexander and Jan Turner of AKA
A fundraiser at the Tempest Arms, Elslack, in memory of Harry Marsden-Mellin in which people could buy a fluffy black and white sheep dog toy, raised £841.48.
Harry died of a brain tumour, in November 2010, at the age of ten months. His mum, Skipton hairdresser Claire Marsden, said: “I want to stress how great the Tempest was – they donated the room hire and mulled wine. I want to thank them and all those who contributed a raffle prize.”
“I would like to say how emotional it is to still get the support from everyone. It's nice to think that Harry is not forgotten and that people want to support Harry’s Star.”
So far Claire has raised £35,600 to provide professional and self-help support and advice for parents coping with a child with a brain tumour. Her target is £50,000.
Meanwhile AKA Public Relations has given £170 to the fund. Instead of spending money on Christmas cards and postage, staff gave a donation. To help the fund, call Claire on (01756) 798090.
