Plans for 19 new homes at Eastburn

Plans have been revealed for 19 new houses on agricultural land off Sutton Lane at Eastburn.

The development would be built on a rectangular site between Sycamore Grove and a paddock used by Woodland Barn.

Plans for the two and three-bedroom houses have been submitted to Bradford Council.

Craven ward councillor Adrian Naylor feared the homes, if approved, would generate more traffic on congested Skipton Road.

He renewed calls for a strategy to deal with an expected rise in traffic as potentially thousands more houses are built along the Aire Valley.

Coun Naylor said: “My concern is that incremental deployment in Eastburn and Steeton will lead to more pressure on the road system.

“All we’re seeing is people shoehorning more houses into that area. There’s no significant investment in infrastructure at this time.”

Councillors have previously expressed concern the effect on local roads of 220 planned houses in Steeton.
