Silsden’s Proms on the Farm team have been busy organising their events for 2013. The programme will start with the first of a series of tea dances at Silsden Methodist Church on Monday at 2pm.

Admission will be £2 which will include tea and homemade scones and biscuits.

The annual spring concert will take place at Silsden Golf Club on Saturday, March 9 and will feature the well-known country and folk group Five and Dimers.

Tickets will be on sale from Twiggs Newsagents, Silsden, from February 1.

And, to celebrate its tenth anniversary, this year’s main Proms on the Farm concert promises to be better than ever.

It will take place at Sycamore Farm, Brunthwaite, Silsden, on Saturday, July 20, and once again, proceeds will be divided between Manorlands Hospice, run by Sue Ryder Care, and Silsden Methodist Church.

Over the past ten years, the Proms on the Farm team have raised thousands of pounds for the two charities.

“We are very grateful to all our followers and supporters and to those who donate their time and skills and to those who support the main event with sponsorship. Without them we could not carry on,” said a team spokesman.
