The owner of a former nursing home in Cowling has lodged an appeal over his plans to convert it into bedsits.

Tariq Majeed’s plans to turn the now closed Langdale Nursing Home in Keighley Road into 17 bedsits with a warden’s apartment was refused by Craven District Council in November.

At the time, councillors were told that Mr Majeed had already informed the council he was appealing to the Planning Inspectorate because the council had overrun its time to make a decision.

Councillors, who had been recommended to approve the application, voted against the scheme on the grounds they had received insufficient information about the intended use of the building.
