A former BBC Look North presenter will chair a question time session in Addingham when local figures will be quizzed about the big issues.

Judith Stamper, deputy head and principal teaching fellow in broadcast journalism at Leeds University’s Institute of Communications Studies, has agreed to chair the debate organised by Addingham Civic Society.

She said: “I’m delighted to be part of Addingham’s Question Time. The village has always been a hive of activity and, through the Civic Society, now has an exciting online presence which is the epitome of local citizen engagement with important local and national issues.

“I can’t wait to hear local Addingham folk tackle some of their representatives as well as some experts and stakeholders in this live forum.”

Villagers have been invited to send in questions ahead of the session at Bracken Ghyll Golf Club tomorrow at 7.30pm.

The panel will include Keighley MP Kris Hopkins, ward councillors Andrew Mallinson (Con, Craven) and Adrian Naylor (Ind, Craven), Addingham Parish Council chairman Catherine Coates and Bradford Council assistant director of planning Julian Jackson.

There will be no entry fee for society members and a £3 charge for non-members.
