Plans to build 114 homes at North Parade, Skipton, submitted

Outline plans for 114 new homes have been submitted for land off North Parade, Skipton.

The Amenbury Property and Keyhaven Homes scheme will include a mixture of apartments and family homes and 40 per cent will be classed affordable.

The scheme, which was first revealed to residents of Horse Close and Greatwood estate early last year, will also include a convenience store and a multi-use games area.

Access to the site, which is currently grazing land, will be off North Parade and Whinny Gill Road.

But those opposed to the development say it will put unacceptable pressure on roads and services, including schools.

They also believe that the scheme will be followed by further phases of more houses attached to the development.

Skipton Town Council has already agreed, if planning permission is approved, to sell a strip of land at North Parade to the developers for the access.
