Schools reopen after snow
7:51am Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News
More than a dozen schools closed yesterday
All of Craven’s schools are due to open today despite the continuing icy conditions.
More than a dozen schools closed yesterday, including Upper Wharfedale at Threshfield and Ermysted’s in Skipton, as heavy snow blanketed the area.
The severe weather made driving conditions hazardous.
Inspector Mick Barron, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said: “With the adverse weather set to continue for the next few days, I would like to remind drivers to keep up to date with the latest traffic and travel information on local radio and, if conditions are severe, only to travel if the journey is essential.”
