Couple's 500-mile bike ride to help tsunami victims

Former Long Preston residents Mike and Hilary Goodall are taking part in a 500-mile bike ride to raise money for the charity Hands Across the Water.

It was set up after the Thailand tsunami on Boxing Day 2004 and has helped build an orphanage in the Taqua Pa region of Thailand, north of Phuket Island.

The bike ride will start in Bangkok and will end at the orphanage. To help raise funds, a coffee morning is being held at Long Preston Village Hall on Saturday from 10am.
