Councillor praises developer planning new homes in Eastburn
10:00am Friday 25th January 2013 in News
Coun Andrew Mallinson
A developer planning to build 19 homes at Sycamore Grove in Eastburn has been praised by a ward councillor.
Coun Andrew Mallinson said other housing developers could learn from the way Jack Thompson went about his application.
He said Mr Thompson sought the views of Bradford councillors like Coun Mallinson and members of Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council.
Mr Thompson, of nearby Hill Top Farm, Moor Lane, also met with Bradford Council planning officers to discuss what sort of houses would be most acceptable.
Coun Mallinson said: “More people should be involved in that process rather than believing they’ll hit a brick wall and fighting everyone. Obviously any houses next to other houses are going to be sensitive, but Mr Thompson has gone out of his way not to get people’s backs up.
“He’s gone the extra mile by retaining some of his land as extra pasture land which has extended the green belt. He could have fitted more houses in that land."
