Despite a spate of burglaries and a ‘potato thrower’ causing problems in Earby, the number of crimes committed across West Craven in December was significantly less than December 2011.

Sergeant Kim De Curtis told the West Craven Area Committee that the total number ol crimes in Craven, Coates and Earby wards was 39, compared to 67 in 2011.

Sgt De Curtis said there were four burglaries in early December and a suspect had been arrested. She also said an officer in the West Craven Neighbourhood Policing Team used restorative justice to deal with a “potato thrower” who broke windows in Earby.
