The same-day appointment service at Skipton’s Fisher Medical Centre has scored highly in a patient satisfaction survey.

The service enables patients to see or speak to a doctor the same day they contact the surgery, whether by phone or online.

Of the 33 questionnaires completed, 21 patients were “very satisfied” and 12 “satisfied” with the service.

Asked how easy it was to get their appointment, 22 said it was “very easy” and 10 found it “easy”. One said they found it “neither easy nor difficult”. Of those patients who were unable to see the doctor of their choice, all said they were happy with the GP they did see.

Practice manager Linden Veitch said: “We are pleased that those patients who responded to the survey are satisfied with the same day service. We have managed to see every patient who has contacted us for an appointment on the same day, which has sometimes been quite a challenge.”
