Young people are being invited to get involved in Craven Youth Council by attending the next meeting at Otley Street Youth Centre, Skipton, on Monday, March 18, from 4pm to 5.30pm.

The Youth Council – for 11 to 19-year-olds – aims to encourage and support young people living in Craven to get actively involved in their community and in decision-making.

Chairman Izzi Ellwood said “The meetings are a fun and relaxed way to make a difference in the community.”

The council meets every two weeks to work on projects that tackle young people’s issues and is hosting two promotional events outside Skipton Town Hall this Saturday, February 2 and next Saturday, February 9.

The group is currently working on Craven Dragons Den 2013 at which young people are invited to bid for up to £500 towards a project and ideas which will improve the community and benefit young people.
