Estate owner joins board of planning firm Rural Solutions Ltd

Landowner and countryside champion Tor McLaren is so impressed with work done by Broughton-based planning and development specialists Rural Solutions Ltd that he has joined the board as a non-executive director.

Mr McLaren has used the services of the rural planning experts to develop a masterplan for his family’s estate in Wiltshire, gain permission to develop a listed stable block and explore ways to maximise the future potential of his rural assets.

Rural Solutions managing director William Fry said: “I am delighted that Tor has joined our board of directors. He brings with him a wealth of experience of rural issues as well as invaluable business expertise.”

Tor has a background in international investment in the agribusiness and technology sectors and is a patron of the Aberbaldie Foundation which supports education and medical research in the Australian bush.

He is also an active supporter of cancer and genetic disease research and sits on the Pancreatic Biomedical Research Unit’s advisory board and the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts.
