To mark the Queen’s diamond jubilee, the Freemasons in the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding, have awarded grants to six Craven projects.
They gave £5,000 to Burnsall Village Hall for new window and stage curtains, £2,000 to Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue for equipment, £750 to Addingham Civic Society for the football field and playground, £500 to Appletreewick Village Hall towards a kitchen upgrade, £400 to Skipton’s Royal British Legion Band for new instruments and £400 to Sight Airedale for the purchase of demonstration items.
The grants were part of more than £200,000 given out across the region.
Provincial Grand Master John Clayton said: “We wish the organisations who have received our grants all the best in their endeavours.
“In the last 25 years the Province has given almost £3 million to support local non-Masonic causes.
“It was all donated by members of the Province, their families and their friends.”
