A Steeton woman is joining fellow Rotarians on a mercy mission to south India.
Janet Pickles will help Rotary members in the state of Kerala to administer polio drops to thousands of children.
Janet, a Keighley Rotary Club member for three years, is among 34 Rotarians taking part in the self-funded trip.
By this weekend, 172 million Indian children aged under five will have received life-saving drops of the polio vaccine.
In the past two years there have been no new cases of polio in the country.
Worldwide incidence of polio has dropped from 350,000 cases in 1988 to 175 cases last year, but the disease is still endemic in a small number of countries including Afghanistan and Nigeria.
Rotary International decided 25 years ago to campaign for a polio-free world and since then members have raised millions of pounds for the campaign.
The money has funded national immunisation drives for children aged under five in high-risk countries.
