7:00am Thursday 7th February 2013 in News
A woman found dead on the bank of a river in Upper Wharfedale has been named as Deborah Helen Marshall.
Mrs Marshall, who was 58 and from Buckden, had been reported missing by her concerned family at teatime on Wednesday.
She was found on the banks of the River Wharfe between Starbotton and Kettlewell on Thursday afternoon.
Police said Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association and a local farmer had helped with the search.
The spokesman added: “North Yorkshire Police were alerted by the ambulance service after the body of a 58-year-old woman was discovered on a riverside path, between Kettlewell and Starbotton at about 3.24pm.
“The woman, who is from the local area, had been reported missing on Wednesday. Extensive police inquiries and searches, with assistance from fell rescue, were conducted to locate the woman. Sadly, she was found deceased on the far side of the river adjacent to the B6160. The sudden death is not being treated as suspicious.”
An inquest was opened and adjourned this week.
