A new daytime social group will be launched in Skipton on Tuesday.
Open House is a partnership between the Skipton branch of the Oddfellows and the All Together Now! Initiative, set up by local charities Carers Resource and CareFree.
Running at the Three Links Club on Rectory Lane on the fourth Tuesday of every month, it will provide a place for carers, the cared for and older people to come together for a range of activities.
They can drop in for coffee in the morning, read a paper or a magazine, play games, have a chat, enjoy some soup at lunch time or join in group activities in the afternoon.
Debi Hawkins, service manager at The Carers Resource, said: “Open House does exactly what it says on the tin. The group will be open to older people looking to meet up with others and have some fun. From 10am to 3pm, people will have somewhere to go for friendship and a break from their usual routines.”
The launch event will also run from 10am to 3pm. It will showcase the kinds of activities on offer. Entry is £1.
