Austwick Hall gardens open for snowdrop walk

The gardens at Austwick Hall The gardens at Austwick Hall

Austwick Hall will again be throwing open its gardens so people can enjoy the snowdrop walk.

And one of the openings - on Wednesday, February 20 - will raise money for the National Gardens Scheme which supports a range of charities.

The hall - now a boutique hotel run by Eric Culley and Michael Pearson - is surrounded by a series of terraces, probably dating from the early 19th century.

Over the past 12 years, the two men have re-planted most of the borders, constructed new steps and gravel paths and planted more than 100,000 snowdrops.

This year’s open afternoons are February 16, 17, 20, 22 and 23 and March 3 and 4.

Admission is £3.50.
