Craven people are being invited to join a global day of action, calling for an end to violence against women and girls.
The One Billion Rising event is expected to be the largest day of action in the history of global activist movement V-Day.
It will take place on Thursday at 11.30am when local campaigners will meet in front of Skipton Town Hall for live music, dancing and inspiring words.
Local campaigner Jette Howard said: “One Billion Rising began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that one in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime.
“On February 14, V-Day’s 15th anniversary, Skipton will join activists, writers, thinkers, celebrities, and women and men across the world as we express outrage, demand change, strike, dance, and rise in defiance of the injustices women suffer, demanding an end at last to violence against women.”
