When South Craven School pupil Harry Wainwright went skiing with his family, he decided to use the occasion to raise money for charity.

So, the year 11 student skied from Les Arcs to Champagny and back, across the three Valleys in France, a total of 60 miles.

And he completed the challenge in six-and-a-half hours “I asked friends and family to sponsor me and I raised a total of £110, which I donated to the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope,” said Harry.

Although he is now concentrating on his GSCEs, he is looking forward to his next skiing holiday when he would like to take part in another challenge and raise money for a different charity.
