Churches Together plans Easter cross for Earby
8:00am Sunday 17th February 2013 in News
A giant cross could be put up on land near to Earby post office to celebrate Easter.
It would be 5ft wide and 9ft high and would be placed on the banking across from the post office for up to three weeks.
Glenys Barnes, from Pendle Council’s property management arm Liberata, said: “The cross would be on the site for a maximum period of three weeks, beginning on Friday March 15, 2013.”
Churches Together has said the structure would be fixed securely under the supervision of a professional Pendle tradesman and insurance would be organised through St Peter’s Methodist Church.
If the council grants permission for the cross, then Churches Together would have to indemnify the council against injury and damage to property.
