Charlotte Smith has been chosen as the 43rd Long Preston May Queen.
She and a number of other hopefuls were interviewed at a coffee morning in the village hall.
After the decision was announced, she received her sash of office from retiring queen Francesca Redford.
The May Day celebrations will take place on Saturday, May 4.
