Brightenber wind farm inquiry to take place in April

The proposed site of the wind turbines
A second appeal into refused plans to build a wind farm near Gargrave is to be heard at a public hearing in April.
The application has created a lot of controversy and the hearing is likely to be attended by large numbers of both supporters and objectors.
It will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at the Coniston Hotel, Coniston Cold.
Arrangements have been made to allow for the hearing to go to two days if needed.
The hearing follows an appeal by Energiekontor UK against Craven District Council’s refusal to allow three 100 metre high turbines on farmland at Brightenber Hill.
It was the company’s second attempt to build a windfarm at the site.
Its first, for five turbines, was refused by the council in 2009 and upheld on appeal to the Planning Inspectorate in the following March.
