Glusburn Community Primary School staged a Claret and Amber Day to celebrate Bradford City’s success in reaching Wembley.

Children and staff dressed in the football team’s colours and were joined by a real-life bantam named Hen’drie by the pupils after club legend John Hendrie.

The kitchen team prepared a claret and amber dessert and juice and a special themed assembly was held to celebrate on the club’s achievement in getting to the Capital One Cup final on Sunday.

Headteacher and City fanatic Richard Hunt, who is making the trip to Wembley, said: “The message delivered in the assembly was around the importance of self-belief, teamwork, team spirit, perseverance and above all holding on to your dreams.

“The whole story of how a fourth-tier football club reaching the final, beating Premier League teams along the way, really does deliver the message that anything is possible.”
