Four men were caught red-handed on a store CCTV stripping a shelf of aftershave valued at £753, Skipton magistrates heard.

Minutes later, police officers stopped a black Vauxhall Astra in Grassington Road, Skipton, and arrested two of the men seen previously in Boots in the town centre.

A third man, Florian Didila, 18, of Travis Lacey Terrace, Dewsbury, was later arrested, admitted the offence and implicated the others, said prosecutor Caroline Midgley.

Didila appeared in court with Sentiment Bucur, 26, and Marius Didila, 18, also of Travis Lacey Terrace and Alberto Dragusin, 20, of Springdale Street, Huddersfield.

Through a Romanian interpreter, they were told they were accused of theft from a shop on January 24 this year.

They pleaded guilty and magistrates adjourned the case and asked for reports to be prepared and told the men they must return to court for sentence on Friday, March 15.
