Skipton will celebrate Armed Forces Day on Sunday, June 23.

Organiser Wayne Smith, from the Royal British Legion, said this would be the fifth year the event had taken place in the town and interest had already started with people wanting to make bookings for stands.

For the first time, there would be a tribute to World War Two, which, Mr Smith said, would add to the overall event.

There are plans to erect a stage for singers and other performers.

The celebrations will take place on the High Street from 10am and any individual or group wishing to take part should contact Mr Smith on (01282) 842220.
