A Threshfield care home has donated a £500 internal prize award to the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.

Tony Lyon, manager of Threshfield Court, made the presentation and said as a keen caver he was well aware of the importance of the voluntary service, which is totally reliant on public donations.

He revealed that the home had also chosen the Grassington-based team as its charity for 2013.

Threshfield Court – part of the Barchester Healthcare Group – was the first centre in Yorkshire to receive the prestigious Quality of Life Kitemark for dementia care in 2011 and last year not only retained the award but did so with the highest review score possible.
