Promotion for Skipton Army Cadet
9:00am Sunday 24th February 2013 in News
Gabi Snowden
Army cadet Gabi Snowden has been promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Seventeen-year-old Gabi, from the Skipton Detachment, was promoted at a training weekend for D Company.
“Being a sergeant means a great deal to me as it is the next step of my cadet career,” said Gabi, who is studying for her A-levels at Skipton Girls’ High School.
“Up until recently the company has been lacking in a senior cadet rank structure and now that we actually have a team of senior NCOs I can really see the company progressing.”
Outside of cadets, Gabi, who lives in Cowling, hopes to get an engineering apprenticeship with Rolls Royce or go on to university to study aerospace engineering. She is also training for a brown belt in jujitsu.
