Riders urged to Mount Up for Manorlands

Manorlands is urging people to saddle up for a spring fundraiser.

The Sue Ryder hospice at Oxenhope is staging a second horse ride in the Yorkshire Dales. It follows the success of last year’s Mount Up for Manorlands, which attracted more than 120 riders and raised more than £5,000.

The event, being held again at the Coniston Estate, Coniston Cold, takes place on Sunday, May 26.

Riders can choose from three routes – all take in tracks, quiet lanes and bridleways – and have the option of tackling some fences used in annual hunter trials.

Sue Ryder regional fundraiser Andrew Wood said: “The feedback we received last year was fantastic so we are delighted that with the support of the Coniston Hotel and our event sponsor Whitakers Animal Feeds, we are able to stage this once again. We hope it will be even bigger and better.”

Anyone wishing to take part but who doesn’t have a horse available can hire one for the day from Kilnsey Trekking Centre on 01756 753369.
