A reward of £100 is being offered by a car owner whose vehicle was badly damaged by a hit and run driver at Long Preston.

They ploughed into James Roberts’ green Rover 75 while it was parked off the road outside his home at Bridgend, on the A65 near the Gisburn turning.

He believes the offending vehicle was travelling towards Settle.

He has informed the police of the incident which happened in the early hours of Friday, February 15.

“It mounted the pavement, smashed into the side of my car and shunted it along the pavement,” said Mr Roberts.

“I believe it was a burgundy/maroon Peugeot 407 or 807. I only presume this as there was paint left at the scene and a smashed wheel trim off a Peugeot.”

Anyone who has information should contact the police on 101.
