Colin Hargreaves, president of the Skipton Craven Club
Young people in Craven are invited to apply for awards to participate in personal development courses organised through the Rotary Clubs of Skipton and Skipton Craven.
These include sailing on the Ocean Youth Trust’s yacht the James Cook, which sails out of North Shields, or a youth leadership programme based at the Hebden Hey Activity Centre, Hebden Bridge. Up to six participants from the Craven area will join young people sponsored by other Rotary clubs throughout Yorkshire and the North East.
Colin Hargreaves, president of the Skipton Craven Club said: “These two programmes have continued to offer opportunities for our local youth to engage in activities that build their confidence, promote team building and responsibility, and develop practical skills. “Our club is celebrating its 25th anniversary and we have decided to double the number of places we fully fund.”

Applicants must be under 18 and be in full-time education, on vocational training courses, or be apprenticed locally.
