Date announced for Barnoldswick Aldi store appeal

A hearing on two appeals against the refusal of an Aldi store in Barnoldswick is set to be held in April.

Kelbrook-based company Pendle Projects Ltd have appealed against a West Craven Area Committee decision to refuse consent to demolish buildings in a conservation area and to refuse permission to build the supermarket in the former Gas Works Yard, off Skipton Road.

The Aldi appeal hearing will be held at 10am on Thursday, April 11, at the Rainhall Centre in Barnoldswick. The hearing is expected to last one day.

Pendle Council officers had recommended approval of the Aldi supermarket plan at an area committee meeting held last August.
