Youngsters from West Craven High Technology College in Barnoldswick are taking part in a public speaking event in Oxfordshire.
Eight Year 10 pupils - Becky Bugler, Emily Cox, Tom Dowson, James Goodall, George Wilkinson, Georgina Frizelle, Tom Krupa and Oliver Standley - will compete in the Winston Churchill Public Speaking Project 2013, at Blenheim Palace - where Churchill was born in 1874 - on Tuesday, March 12.
Pupils will speak on the topic “harsh laws are better than no laws” and their teachers believe this will be a fantastic opportunity for West Craven pupils to take part in a competition which, until now, has only featured competitors from schools in the south of England.
