Craven College to host taster day
8:00am Wednesday 6th March 2013 in News
Craven College principal Robert Bellfield
Craven College is hosting a taster day to introduce skills to young people which they may never have considered as career options.
It will take place on Thursday, March 14 from 9.30am and the college will offer a series of free half-day “have a go” activities to inspire and interest.
They will run at the various campuses in Skipton and range from theatrical and media make-up, hairdressing, beauty therapy and nail services to countryside, agriculture, mechanics and animal care.
Principal Robert Bellfield said: “The taster sessions are the perfect opportunity to try out a career area of your choice. You don’t need previous experience, they are great fun and you might discover a hidden talent or interest you never realised you had.
“Having a go for yourself is the best way of getting a taste of a new skill. There’s no substitute for hands-on experience to give young people an insight into the jobs and careers that are out there waiting for them.”
