Environmentally aware businesses are helping to restore natural woodlands in the Yorkshire Dales thanks to the continuation of a scheme to encourage greener driving.
The Clapham-based Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) in partnership with The Fuelcard Company, one of the UK’s largest commercial fuel card retailers, is promoting greener driving through The Fuelcard Company’s EcoPoint scheme.
The scheme allows customers to donate 50p per fuel card, per month towards tree planting.
The Fuelcard Company has raised a total of £6,260 for YDMT since the partnership began in 2011 and has said it will continue to contribute to woodland restoration over the coming years.
Jakes de Kock, marketing director at The Fuelcard Company, said: “As a business committed to a greener future, we are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and that of our customers. EcoPoint enables our customers to enjoy all the cost-saving benefits of their fuel card as well as being secure in the knowledge they’re playing their part in protecting the environment.”
