Official opening date for Steeton Community Hub

The Community Hub in Steeton The Community Hub in Steeton

The Community Hub in Steeton will be officially opened on Saturday, April 6.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by dignitaries including the Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford.

The £20,000 community centre has been in use since December for parish council meetings and police surgeries.

Parish council chairman David Mullen said the building was now fully equipped and available for functions, parties, meetings and regular groups. He said: “We’ve been waiting for certain bits to be finished.”

The hub was built next to Steeton bowling green, replacing the old bowling pavilion while providing extra space for other village groups. Facilities include a large function room that can be split into two, a snack kitchen, and a smaller meeting room.

Most of the funding for the hub was provided by Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council and environmental charities bodies WREN and Yorventure.
