Four men are wanted for questioning after an expensive Rolex watch was stolen from Barbara Cunningham Jewellers in Craven Court, Skipton.
Police say the men entered the shop at about 4pm on Saturday and apparently checked for CCTV and the number of staff on duty before leaving.
A few minutes later, one of the men returned and asked to look at the Rolex watch, which was passed to him. He then ran out of the shop and headed towards Otley Street.
He is described as white, 6ft 3ins tall, of heavy, stocky build, with brown hair shaved at the side.
He was wearing grey three-quarter-length shorts with a red stripe down the side, white canvas slip-on pumps and a brown and beige coat.
Two of his accomplices were also white – one of whom had an arm full of tattoos – and the third was Asian.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Michael Smith at Skipton Police Station on 101.
