South Craven School student George Marshall will be on the field when the England rugby union team runs onto the pitch for its match against Italy on Sunday.

George will be one of 100 UK school students accompanying the giant England flag onto the pitch at Twickenham. They will appear in front of 82,000 spectators before the RBS Six Nations match. During half-time George will take part in a pitch parade wearing the new England rugby kit.

George, who is in year nine, was selected to represent South Craven School based on his commitment and achievement in rugby.

He will be accompanied by 30 South Craven students including four sixth formers who were involved in designing a new set of shirts for the school’s senior rugby team.

Tom Willetts, Harris Catley, Jake Cawthorn and James Meehan have attended meetings with the design team remodelling the shirt. The colour was changed from black to green and gold to reflect the school colours.
