Earby and District Local History Society holds annual dinner
Thirty members and guests enjoyed Earby and District Local History Society’s annual dinner at Ghyll Golf Club, Barnoldswick.
The after-dinner speaker was Ian Dewhirst, from Keighley, whose subject was Life on the Home Front in World War Two.
He took a light-hearted look at some of the less recognised ways in which local life was enhanced and the opportunities afforded to local people to broaden their horizons in what was otherwise a difficult period of history.
