New Skipton cafe is flying the flag

A patriotic cafe has opened in Skipton.
Union Jacks, based at High Corn Mill, is the brainchild of owner Carl Davis who was inspired to go British following last year’s jubilee and Olympic celebrations.
He said: “Last year was a great year for the UK and it inspired a lot of people to become a lot more patriotic. It is one of the reasons we chose the theme, which has gone down a storm with our customers.
“There’s a lot of life in Skipton. This mixed with the hustle and bustle, the market and the other fantastic things on offer really attracted us to the area.”
This isn’t the first themed eatery Carl has owned. Past businesses have included an American diner and a historical cafe, which used traditional cooking utensils.
Union Jacks serves a selection of traditional fare using locally-sourced produce.
