CCTV appeal after Rolex theft at Skipton shop
1:10pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in News
Police have released CCTV images of four men they want to question in connection with the theft of a Rolex watch from Barbara Cunningham & Mezzo Jewellery in Craven Court, Skipton, last week.
They say there were several members of staff on duty at the time of the theft – which occurred about 4pm on Saturday, March 2 when a man came into the shop and asked to view the Rolex watch.
He snatched the watch and ran from the shop, chased by a member of staff and Craven Court’s security while other members of staff provided cover.
However, he managed to get away and was joined by two of a group of three other men who had been waiting nearby.
Polce say initial reports that one of the suspects was Asian were incorrect and that all the four men were white.
“Police remain optimistic that the men will be caught due to the excellent quality of the CCTV images, which have been circulated to neighbouring counties and police forces,” said a police spokesman.
Anyone who witnessed the theft, saw the men leaving the scene or has other information is asked to contact PC Michael Smith at Skipton Police Station on 101 or contact the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
