The Skipton Building Society Horse Trials take place this weekend at Funkirk Farm near Carleton.
A key part of the British Eventing calendar, the trials include the same horse riding disciplines of dressage, showjumping and cross country as the three day events which take place at the Olympics and international events such as Badminton.
It provides a thrilling day out for competitors, horses and spectators alike.
There is also a shopping village with a wide range of equestrian and country goods as well as tasty food and drink.
Skipton Building Society are now in their fourth year as the main sponsor.
Group chief executive David Cutter said: “As a local mutual we recognise the importance of supporting the community, and the Skipton Building Society Horse Trials is a great event for all the family.”
The organisers Robin Bower, Michael Bower and Tim Bennett have worked hard to ensure that the event makes the most of the amazing setting.
With around 500 horses and riders competing over the weekend they just hope that the good weather continues and encourages more people to visit and experience the sport first hand.
Entry is £5 for adults, free for children under 16 and car parking is free. The farm is just off the A59. Gates open at 8am, with the cross country starting at 10am on each day.
