A planning application to make Silsden Town Hall accessible to disabled people is back on the agenda after being deferred.

The proposals, which also include replacing a set of fire escape stairs at the back of the building, were initially debated by Keighley & Shipley Area Planning Panel last month.

However, they were put back after Bradford planners conceded they had not followed their own rules.

Objectors claimed the application did not contain the details needed to permit such a change to a prominent building within a conservation area.

They successfully argued that important details concerning the design and materials of the proposed disabled access ramp were not publicised by the close of the consultation period.

The application will again be considered by the planning panel at its meeting in Keighley Town Hall at 10am on Wednesday.

Planning officers have recommended that the proposals should be approved.
